iSelectMD increases coverage in Alabama and Florida
June 19, 2017 – Hilton Head, SC – iSelectMD to offer mHealth and Telehealth Services to the 19 Electric cooperative entities located in Alabama and Florida. Effective August 1st 2017, cooperative employees from these entities will have access to telemedicine services. This innovative program provides real time access to care to cooperative employees and their household dependents that are experiencing a non-urgent illness.
Members will be able to access a national network of state-licensed physicians anytime, anywhere. The focus of the program is to improve access to care, promote the patient-centered medical home, and reduce costs when resolving short-term illnesses. By simply calling a toll-free number, members will be triaged by experienced physicians who will develop a supportive and caring relationship, consult with the member, diagnose, plan treatment and provide a prescription when appropriate.

The Electric Cooperative Health Benefit Plan is a self-funded health plan that provides benefits to 19 cooperative entities in Alabama and the panhandle of Florida. The Plan was started in 2008 to address the issue of the constant rising costs of providing cooperative employees with health insurance. The Plan current covers over 5.300 lives.
