Washington, DC – October 4, 2017 – Today, the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee (Committee) unanimously voted to advance the nomination of David Redl as the next Administrator of the National Telecommunication and Information Administration (NTIA).  Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) thanks Chairman John Thune (R-SD), Ranking Member Bill Nelson (D-FL) and the entire Committee for acting to move the nomination forward and supports David Redl’s nomination.

In a statement, CCA President & CEO Steven K. Berry said, “I thank Chairman Thune, Ranking Member Nelson and the Committee for advancing the nomination of David Redl as the next Administrator of NTIA.  Mr. Redl’s vast industry experience and understanding for the need to maximize spectrum efficiency make him an excellent fit for the position.  We’ve been anxiously awaiting his confirmation, as Mr. Redlunderstands the importance of ensuring all Americans, especially those in rural unserved and underserved areas, have access to robust mobile broadband services.  I thank the Committee for progressing the nomination and urge swift confirmation by the full Senate.”
