Job Description

Tecore has a growth opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer supporting our growth across all lines of business.  You will be providing critical operational support to the roll-out of cellular networks in varied environments, from commercial rural LTE deployments, to Managed Access systems to counter contraband wireless devices within correctional institutions and secure government facilities.  Your experience will also be leveraged to support ongoing short and long term modernization projects

Mission:  Responsible for the deployment and installation of wireless solutions supporting commercial, and government customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•       Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks

•       Travel to customer sites to perform pre-deployment site surveys, system installation, and upgrades

•       Troubleshoots technical problems and issues to determine technical solutions; work within customer guidelines/process to implement solutions

•       Provide operations and maintenance training as required

•       Support customer operations and System Administrator personnel

•       Fault Isolation/Resolution

•       Work with Program Managers to ensure all performance metrics are met or exceeded at all times

•       Support system development in the design and implementation of solutions to meet specific customer requirements

Required Skills/Experience:

•       Troubleshooting, HW maintenance and cable repair

•       Wireless communications installation/repair

•       Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) signal propagation

•       Knowledge of networking and voice protocols

•       A.S/B.S. Degree Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience (2 yr.) in a telecommunications related discipline

Desired Skills/Experience:

•       Previous experience as a Field Support Representative

•       Experience supporting both HW / SW in a Linux environment

•       Familiarity with Cisco switching and routing equipment

•       Experience maintaining wireless/cellular communication equipment
