Patrick Riordan Transitions to Chief Strategic Officer, Mark Naze Announced as CEO of Nsight
Green Bay, WI (April 24, 2018) – Nsight’s board of directors has approved a plan that activates leadership succession at Nsight, appointing Patrick Riordan to continue as the chairman of the board, president and as chief strategy officer (CSO) of the company. As Riordan steps aside from his role as CEO, Nsight’s chief financial officer, Mark Naze, will succeed Riordan as the new CEO, effective July 1.
Riordan has served as Nsight’s most senior leader since 1975, and as president and CEO since 1991. In his more than four decades of service to Nsight, Riordan has worked to instill a company culture that is built on delivering extraordinary customer care and fueled by constant innovation. Naze shares this vision and commitment, and is driven by these core principles. As CEO, Naze will oversee the day-to-day operations of Nsight and its subsidiaries. Riordan will focus on Nsight’s strategy as the company continues to move forward in a rapidly changing technology industry.
Since joining Nsight in 1984, Naze has worked closely with Riordan to take the business from a traditional landline company to a family of companies that provides complete telecommunications services throughout Northeastern and Central Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. During this time, the company has grown from $1.6 million in revenue to over $318 million in 2017. In 2017 Nsight was ranked the 26th largest employer in Brown County. The Nsight family of companies now tops over 775 full-time equivalent positions.
“Despite fierce competition in the wireless industry and the challenges of wired communications, Nsight is flourishing. The secret to our success is a companywide commitment to delivering extraordinary customer care; it’s been our cornerstone since Nsight was founded in 1910,” said Riordan. “After working side by side for over three decades, I know Mark shares this conviction. He also has a proven track record for leading the company’s strong financial performance. I feel quite confident in turning over the reins to Mark and look forward to making the transition with this trusted leader.”
As consumer reliance on wireless technology grows and data usage burgeons, Nsight is continually investing in its network and exploring emerging technologies. “We’re fully prepared to meet customer demands as needs change,” said Naze. “I’m honored to be a part of this company and its rich history, and I’m excited to further elevate the customer experience as we move forward.”
The board-approved succession plan includes additional leadership changes to take effect on July 1. Dan Fabry, chief operating officer of mobile operations, will expand his role to include oversight of the Nsight Telservices fixed operations as COO of mobile and fixed operations. Brighid Riordan, director of public affairs and customer experience initiatives, will be promoted to chief innovation officer (CINO) and vice president of emerging services and public affairs. Ron Van Nuland, director of accounting, will be promoted to CFO.
Nsight’s outgoing CEO is the third generation of the Riordan family to become actively involved in the business. A graduate of St. Norbert College and the Advanced Telephone Management Program through the University of Kansas, Riordan has held many leadership roles within his local community, as well as being a respected national leader in the industry. Riordan has served as past chairman, current board member and member of the officers group for CTIA, past chairman and present board member of the Competitive Carrier Association (CCA), past president and board member for the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association (WSTA), past board member of the Associated Carrier Group (ACG), and past president of the Eastern Rural Telecommunications Association. Riordan received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Rural Carriers Association (RCA), now known as CCA, in 2008 and Outstanding Service Award from RCA in 2010. He currently serves on the board for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix’s Hero Foundation.
Naze is a certified public accountant and graduate of St. Norbert College and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). He is currently secretary and treasurer for ACG. Mark was the recipient of the NWTC Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016. His community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Civic Symphony of Green Bay and Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity, member of the St. Willebrord Parish finance council, president of the Packerland Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, president of the Tri-County Optimist Club and chairperson of the WSTA Accounting Committee. He is a member of the Greater Green Bay Chamber’s CFO Roundtable and Financial Executives International (FEI) – Northeastern Wisconsin.
