CCA Congratulates FCC Commissioner Carr on Renomination
Washington, DC – January 9, 2018 – Yesterday, President Trump renominated Commissioner Brendan Carr for a five-year term at the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”). Competitive Carriers Association (“CCA”) applauds the decision to renominate Commissioner Carr and fully supports his confirmation.
“I applaud the decision to renominate FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr to a five-year term at the agency,” said CCA President & CEO Steven K. Berry. “Over the past several months, Commissioner Carr has proven to be knowledgeable, efficient and thoughtful in his role as Commissioner, and he absolutely should be re-confirmed. His vast experience and understanding of competitive carrier issues including his focus on streamlining barriers to broadband infrastructure deployment, and the importance of spectrum and Universal Service Fund support have allowed him to ‘hit the ground running’ at the FCC. He certainly is well-prepared to take on the tough issues. I congratulate Commissioner Carr on his re-nomination and support his confirmation by the Senate.”
