Washington, DC –Today the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) praised Chairman Rick Boucher and the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet, for its judicious action to move forward with inventorying useable spectrum and increasing spectrum accessibility.

Following the Subcommittee’s unanimously favorable reporting of H.R. 3019 and H.R. 3125 to the full House Committee on Energy and Commerce, CCA CEO and Executive Director Steven K. Berry stated, “Understanding what spectrum is available and how spectrum is used is crucial to the increased deployment of cutting-edge technologies.  Data heavy services, such as wireless broadband, will need additional spectrum to accomplish ubiquitous, nationwide service, especially in rural and regional markets.”

CCA looks forward to working with the Chairman and Committee members to ensure a competitive market for consumers in rural America.
