Washington, D.C., - Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement regarding the Supreme Court opinion preserving the Universal Service Fund in Federal Communications Commission v. Consumers’ Research: “The Universal Service Fund (USF) is critical for Competitive Carriers Association members, the broader communications industry, and all Americans who rely on connectivity where it otherwise might not be offered. By upholding the USF, the Supreme Court has ensured that all Americans can benefit from the goal of ubiquitous connectivity, empowering innovation, supporting critical services, and driving the growth of our digital economy. We are pleased with the Court’s decision, and our members will continue their work of providing broadband connectivity throughout rural America.” For more information about CCA and its policy priorities, please visit ccamobile.org. ### About Competitive Carriers Association Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) is the leading association for competitive communications service providers and stakeholders across the United States. Washington, D.C., – Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement regarding Federal Communications Commission (FCC) deregulatory action regarding the National Broadband Map: “CCA thanks the FCC for acting to reduce regulatory burdens on broadband providers by eliminating the PE certification requirement for BDC filings. CCA has long advocated for this change, including through multiple waiver requests. Today, the FCC codified a more flexible and practical approach that recognizes the qualifications of experienced engineers. CCA also welcomes Commissioner Olivia Trusty to the FCC and appreciates her support, which made adoption of this item possible. We look forward to working with her and the full FCC to advance policies that reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens and provide connectivity to every American.” For more information about CCA and its policy priorities, please visit ccamobile.org. ### About Competitive Carriers Association Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) is the leading association for competitive communications service providers and stakeholders across the United States. Washington, D.C. – Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement regarding the confirmation of Olivia Trusty as Commissioner to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC): “I commend the Senate for confirming Olivia Trusty as Commissioner to the FCC. Olivia has long been a trusted expert on communications policy during her years of public service in Congress and I couldn’t think of a better, more qualified person to fill the role. She brings vast industry knowledge and a keen understanding of rural and competitive broadband issues which will no doubt allow her to hit the ground running on day one. I look forward to working with Olivia and the Commission to further CCA member priorities including securing access to spectrum and preserving USF support to ensure that all Americans have access to reliable broadband services.” For more information about CCA and its policy priorities, please visit ccamobile.org. ### About Competitive Carriers Association Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) is the leading association for competitive communications service providers and stakeholders across the United States.
