Washington, D.C. – Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement:
“We commend the Biden-Harris Administration for today’s release of the National Spectrum Strategy and Presidential Memorandum on spectrum management, a commitment to improve connectivity nationwide. We appreciate the Administration’s attention to issues raised in CCA’s comments, such as the need for licensed mid-band spectrum, the benefits of enhanced collaboration with industry, and the need for increased focus on “real-world” testing of sharing technologies. The availability of licensed mid-band spectrum is crucial for the success and expansion of wireless services that consumers demand and to promote U.S. wireless competition and leadership.
We look forward to working with the Administration, FCC, Congress, and other stakeholders on the successful implementation of the Strategy. Building on the Strategy’s release, we urge Congress to move expeditiously to pass legislation reinstating the FCC’s spectrum auction authority to ensure the agency can conduct its important business without further delay.”
