Advancement of the 5G SALE Act

December 5, 2023

Washington, D.C. – Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement:

“CCA applauds the House Committee on Energy and Commerce for voting to advance H.R. 5677, the 5G Spectrum Authority Licensing Enforcement (SALE) Act and urges swift consideration by the House of Representatives. This important legislation enables the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to proceed to issue licenses for 2.5 GHz spectrum won at auction in 2022 as Congress works to reinstate the FCC’s spectrum auction authority. Passage of this legislation will promote 5G connectivity and benefit American consumers nationwide. We thank Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Representatives John Joyce and Ann Kuster, and the entire Committee for their leadership on these issues.”
