Washington, D.C. – Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement regarding the introduction of the CLOSE THE GAP Act:
“CCA commends Senators John Barrasso and Kyrsten Sinema for introducing the CLOSE THE GAP Act. Improving siting and permitting processes, particularly regarding federal lands, will greatly benefit rural communications providers and the customers they serve. Streamlining regulations, simplifying and expediting application processing, and reducing administrative barriers will reduce uncertainty as carriers navigate the permitting process. We are eager to see improved connectivity, better coverage, and increased access to high-speed internet services for rural communities as a result.”
