CCA President & CEO on House Passage of Countering Untrusted Telecommunications Abroad Act

April 20, 2023

Washington, D.C. – Today, Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement regarding the House passage of the Countering Untrusted Telecommunications Abroad Act:

“We commend the House passage of the Countering Untrusted Telecommunications Abroad Act. However, while the focus on potential use of untrusted equipment internationally by U.S. allies and partners is important, we cannot solve this problem domestically without Congress providing additional funds to fully complete the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program. With deadlines looming, CCA strongly urges Congress to immediately act on this national security issue and ensure that the ‘rip and replace’ program succeeds.”
