Washington, D.C. – Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement regarding the House introduction of the Defend Our Networks Act:
“The House introduction of the Defend Our Networks Act demonstrates the urgent need to fully fund the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program to secure American networks and maintain connectivity, particularly in rural areas. Time is of the essence, and CCA strongly urges Congress to consider all options to provide the funds needed for this important program to succeed.
I thank Representatives Hinson, Krishnamoorthi, Gallagher, Moolenaar, Pettersen, and Houlahan for their committed leadership on this issue. Fully funding the program is the only way to fulfill this national security mandate and remove untrusted equipment from U.S. communications networks while maintaining connectivity across the nation.”
